Subject: How to Get the New Number inserted in a AutoIncrement Field

I know that this is a old question, but
I really need to know how can I get the
number that Mysql use in a autoincrement field
of a record I just inserted ...
Is there any function like LAST_INSERTED or
something like that ...

Thanks a lot
