When I read my post I saw that I had made at least one obvious error.

Please change:

"An index is conceptually a container of keys arranged in such a way that
each key in the index refers to a unique record."

...to read....

"An index is conceptually a container of keys arranged in such a way that
each entry in the index refers to a unique record."

Its so easy to mis-communicate.
