key buffer is about 8M
key_buffer_size | 8388600
I just tried bumping my settings up to these that I found in the
manual...
safe_mysqld -O key_buffer=64M -O table_cache=256 \
-O sort_buffer=4M -O record_buffer=1M &
It shaved a second off... 2.29, and later call took
only .88 seconds once it was cached...
This is running on a solaris box with... I believe 16
processors and 6 gigs of ram...
Although... it is by no means dedicated to MySQL :)
