Can anyone make a suggestion of what the following lines are trying to do in Makefile in the first place?
DEPS_MAGIC := $(shell mkdir .deps > /dev/null 2>&1 ||:) -include $(DEP_FILES) This does not appear to me to be appropriate syntax and it's probably independent of the compiler or make program. It may be that configure fails to succeed because "Solaris 2.8" is not one of it's options?
