Note that if you are using an old Win95 release (for example OSR2), it's likely that you have an old Winsock package; MySQL requires Winsock 2! You can get the newest Winsock from <http://www.microsoft.com/>. Win98 has the new Winsock 2 library, so the above doesn't apply for Win98. Can anyone provide a more definitive link for the upgrade, and also how to establish if a win 95 PC is running winsock 1, 2 or whatever. TIA.
