Perhaps, reconsider you're layout. Even with mssql, you are not talking about an easy or cheap situation (you would need to get the advanced version of mssql I believe, which is mucho dinero x 2).
Why can't both computers be at the same location (and even run off the same machine, leaving the other machine as a pure web server, no database). Just suggestions.
