I have a record that keeps track of averages, now when I say

SELECT * FROM tblname ORDERBY 'average' DESC;

It returns the one with the largest amount of intergers...

I.E.

It will say that 52.50 is a larger number than 358, why is that?  Is that a
table column setting of a datatype?
