Hi folks, I am still new in the mysql world. I have just installed mysql but it when I try to start it (/usr/local/mysql/bin/safe_mysql &) I get the following error massages in the linux.err file:
020101 19:51:58 mysqld started ^G/usr/local/mysql/libexec/mysqld: File './linux-bin.1' not found (Errorcode 13) 020101 19:51:58 could not use linux-bin for logging (errno 13) 020101 19:51:58 /usr/local/mysql/libexec/mysqld: can't create/write to file '/usr/local/mysql/var/linux.pid' 020101 19:51:58 /usr/local/mysql/libexec/mysqld: can't find file: './mysql/host.frm' (errno: 13) 020110 19:51:58 /usr/local/mysql/libexec/mysqld:Error on delete of '/usr/local/mysql/var/linux.pid' (Errcode 13) 020101 19:51:58 mysqld ended I am using Linux 7.3 (Suse) and mysql-3.23.47 source code. Anyone knows the solution?
