Stable according to whose definition ? If you with 'stable' means 'well tested and suitable for production use', that is true for all MySQL releases, including most alpha releases :) If you compare MySQL release scheme to many other products, you will see that a stable version recommended to be used by other products, this is close to what we call beta here at MySQL.
