I've installed mysql on a Windows 2000 system.

On boot up the mysqld-nt service starts (showing the WinMySQLAdmin window)
as expected. Right at the end of the whole start up chain of events some
other thing kicks in at which point the mySQL server (service) stops (and
the start bar changes from a green to a red traffic light).

After this has happened it cannot be started - either through the
WinMySQLAdmin front end or via the Settings> Administrative Tools > Services
panel - it reports that an 'Error 1067 - the process terminated
unexpectedly'.

I've tried disabling likely culprits such as firewall software, virus
software etc which load late on but to no effect.

WinMySQLAdmin reports that ini files etc are OK on start-up.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience concerning where the conflict might
be i.e. what process might be conflicting with the mysql one?

Thanks.

Nic
