It is not platform-specific so much as installation-specific. Typically, it would be in /usr/local/mysql/data/ but that's again entirely dependant on what install you have. A quick "locate mysql | grep data | more" should reveal the locations of all your database files quickly. If you didn't already know, database files end with *.MYI, *.MYD, and *.frm "extensions".
