I read in Paul's book that to use MySQL on a Windows platform you need to pay for it.
I have downloaded a version of the server and client software from the official MySQL.com site and installed it on XP without incident. Paul also writes that the version for windows will be shareware only. This seems not to be the case I have had my server 3.23.43-nt up and running now for some months. I only use the server for my own uni work but I am curious as to what is the real deal. Anyone?
