Hello All, I am new to this list and hope that someone could answer this question for me.
I am running on a fresh install of Redhat 7.2 and am trying to connect to MySQL from a program that I have to test the connections, but am getting error messages saying that the host in not allowed to connect to this MySQL server. This is strange because I ran my test app on the same machine that the MySQL server is running. Is there some file that I must modify to tell MySQL to accept connections from various machines including "localhost"? Also, does some one have a simple test program that they know works that I might be able to use to try and connect to a simple database? I need to validate my app is working correctly.
