Hello, Currently I have a server running an older version of mysql 3.23. This was installed using RedHat's provided RPMs (ie there's mysql, mysql-shared and mysql-devel RPMs installed).
I want to upgrade to mysql-max (latest 3.23 version) however I'm pretty sure that the redhat RPMs place the mysql files in a different location than the mysql.com provided RPM. Can I just install the mysql.com provided RPM overtop of the redhat one? Should I uninstall the redhat RPMs first? Basically what is the least painful way of performing the upgrade?
