Hi,

hopefully I have reached the right list..

I have recently updgraded to version 3.23.49 and have found that when doing 
the following query:
"select now()"
I get a universal time returned to me. I have this version installed on 
linux 7.2 and I require a time in australian eastern standard time format.

After reading the doco I have been able to find a reference to mysql 
referencing an environment variable "TZ".

However it does not give an example of what to set this to if I require the 
above mentioned format.

Secondly the other thing that puzzles me is that on previous versions the 
timezone was never an issue only in the release .49?
