Thanks, but what I need to do is have 

make install install everything into /home/turner/mysql/test then I'll
check everything out to make sure it is how I want it and last I'll copy it all
to /usr/local.

Any way to do this


./configure --prefix=/usr/local (default)
make
make install prefix=/home/turner/mysql/test
