Hi Carsten, I hadn't tried that because I didn't know about his page. (Is it linked from the MySQL site somewhere or did you find it elsewhere ?) However, I'm very wary of running 3rd-party-compiled binary RPM's, as an RPM installation can pretty much do anything it likes to your system, with no quick way to verify whats going to be done. Although I'm sure Troels is probably genuine, I don't like to take the chance on a production system. If the "vendor" isn't supplying compatible binary RPM's directly themselves, I'd far rather compile my own. (Also gives me the opertunity to customize it) I will try Troels by email though and see if he has any ideas on why I'm having trouble compiling. (Probably just a library I need to update or similar) Thanks Regards, Simon --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
