### db set up
[Linux]> mysql -h localhost -u root

mysql> create database db_abc;

### grant to user
mysql>grant all on db_abc.* to pp@localhost
-> identified by 'pp_pwd';

### ppp login
[Linux]> mysql -h localhost -u pp -p db_abc

this is what I had done, have a look

the message is becoming messy, may be I made a mistake about how u check the
login
:)
