Thanks to Paul Dubois, I've figured out the problem of setting AUTO_INCREMENT to a default value in batch mode (from within a .sql file). I was executing a 'DELETE FROM' statement immediately before my 'LOAD DATA ' statement, which knocks the default value down to 0, regardless that I had set it at 1000. -- /* All outgoing email scanned by Norton Antivirus 2002 */ Amer Neely, Softouch Information Services W: www.softouch.on.ca E: [EMAIL PROTECTED] V: 519.438.5887 Perl | PHP | MySQL | CGI programming for shopping carts, data entry forms.
