The user might need the FILE permission, I'm not sure. Also might need the LOCK TABLES permission.

[/snip] That's what I meant. I have reloaded MySQL, flushed, stopped and started the server. The killer is that this user is able to access the database just hunky-dorie, do selects, inserts, deletes, updates. Thanks!
