Your patience please.... :) I am an absolute newbie. When I setup Mysql I made some mistakes and now I can't seem to get out of them.
When I login as root and type "mysql" on the command line as root, I get the following: [william@localhost william]$ su Password: [root@localhost william]# mysql ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO) [root@localhost william]# When I log in as a regular user and try to move forward, I get the following: [william@localhost william]$ mysql Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 4 to server version: 3.23.47 Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> show databases; +----------+ | Database | +----------+ | mysql | | test | +----------+ 2 rows in set (0.02 sec) mysql> USE mysql ERROR 1044: Access denied for user: '@localhost' to database 'mysql' mysql> Any help would be appreciated.
