To Whom It May Concern: Environment: Operating System Windows XP Home Edition Using MySQL 3.23 Using Apache 1.3.12
Initially it started working suddenly after trying all of the commands below... : ) The next day I started the computer and it does not work.... : ( Tried to intall from the C:\Progra~1\MySQL\bin> prompt 'mysqld-nt --install'. Resulted in a pop-up windows MySQL error "Failed To Install Service". Typed 'mysql-nt' alone at the bin prompt..., the prompt comes back with no stated errors. Typed at prompt 'net start mysql' Resulted in "The MySql service is starting." "The MySql service could not be started." "A system error has occured." "A System error 1067 has occurred." "The process terminated unexpectedly." When using at the prompt 'mysqladmin ping'...the following message resulted: "MYSQLADMIN: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' <10061>' Check that mysqld is running on localhost and that the port is 3306. You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'. Please help... : ) Thank you.
