Here's the console report... Anyone have any idea what might be the cause? I
checked and the .sock file exists, and of course there is no mysqld service
running (because it can't start!)

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated...!

Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock'
