Marc, Is there any record of a startup 'confusion' in the Event Viewer/logs? Once the machine is started and sitting static, what do you see (of MySQL/unidentified) in the Services list?
If there is some entry, use a DOS box to stop the service. Then clear out any reference to the service from Registry. Reboot and (again using a DOS box) re-introduce the service to Windows and perform first start-up manually. See if that works. Reboot, and see if the ('new') service auto-starts peaceably. Regards, =dn Yeah, I tried that too. About 5 times with each and every version you have. It worked so wonderful before and I just don't understand why it wants to act up now :( Going to be a real pain to have to reformat that server to get it to work --Marc Hus -----Original Message----- From: Miguel Angel Solórzano [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, August 29, 2002 3:29 PM To: Marc Hus; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: MySQL and Service Pack 3 At 14:29 29/08/02 -0500, Marc Hus wrote: Hi, >Hello, > >I have a very strange problem with all of the Windows versions of MySQL. >I upgraded to Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 Server and now MySQL will >not work period. Has anyone ran into this problem and or know of a fix? Some users had reported before this issue, for someone the remove and re-install the MySQL service had resolved the issue. -- Regards, __ ___ ___ ____ __ / |/ /_ __/ __/ __ \/ / Miguel Angel Solórzano <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> / /|_/ / // /\ \/ /_/ / /__ MySQL AB, Fulltime Developer /_/ /_/\_, /___/\___\_\___/ Săo Paulo - Brazil <___/ www.mysql.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
