Howdy, Before I run off and try it, can anyone offer up any problems with doing a LOCK TABLES, FLUSH TABLES and then use tar to backup my 16GB of DB tables from a slave to a tape?
Currently, I redirect the traffic to another slave, and then shut down this slave to backup the tables and keep replication from happening. An hour later, it's complete. Any thoughts on my query?
