Has anyone been successful in getting 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 to run on SCO 5.0.6? Both seem to configure, compile and install. my_install_db completes successfully and mysqld_safe loads successfully.
Win32 clients on the network and the native command line tools (mysql and mysqladmin via either unix socket or port 3306) on the host hang without error messages when attempting to contact the server. Both mysqld_safe and mysqld are running (ps -ef | grep mysql), and my.cnf uses the same standard tcp/ip port (or socket for local host connection) as with 3.23.52. configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql --disable-shared was used for configuration, and was previously successful with 3.23.52. gcc 2.95.2 and the SCO linker with libraries, along with FSU pthreads were used for compilation, which ran without error.
