Hi Thanks for the prompt reply. Can you please tell me where the logfile will be located if I start it with the --log option? Will syslogd take over the function of the logging, ie, do the log rotation etc. and if possible, could you give me an example of how the log would look?
Sorry for asking all these questions, I just want to make sure that it is what I'm looking for, as I will need to stop the mysql server to do this...
