One we know how much data we are going to store we can calculate HDD size. Then we look at the types of question we are going to use on the DB and combined with the size of data we now know how mush memory we should need. But how do I know what CPU I will need to run this? I know we need to look at what type of CPU (P,PII,PIII,PIII,AMG,XEON......etc) but there must be some rule of thumb for MySQL ?
