I would download the source packages from php.net and explicitly compile the mysql options into PHP. As an alternative, you can look for the mysql-php library rpms on rpmfind.net. My linux webserver (running apache and PHP 4.1.2) has php-mysql-4.1.2-7.i386.rpm, and I am sure that there is a comparable rpm package for your version. Towards that end, I downloaded and installed the php-mysql-4.0.6-15.s390.rpm file. Unfortunately I got the same error. I am somewhat certain that the author of this application was on the right track. Would anyone on this forum care to offer me any direction on this matter?
