help! i have a table which is 1GB and 5 mio records. i must add new index to "live" table but every time i try to do it, it takes 15 minutes, mysql is working, then it dies saying it ran out of available connections. if i increment them, same result. i am doing this through phpMyAdmin but i think this isnt the reason.
can you tell me how to create new index on such a large table?
