`PRIMARY` works fine for me:
mysql> handler a read `PRIMARY` = (3);
+----+-----------+
| id | companyid |
+----+-----------+
| 3 | 5 |
+----+-----------+
1 row in set (0.02 sec)

No, only SELECTs are cached.
