I have a mySQL database that is about 240 megabytes. I am loading it on a Linux server with 2 gigs of RAM. I would like to have the whole table reside in memory to save time from disk access. Is there any way to load the tables into RAM on startup? I am thinking about creating a heap table, but I need the heap table to be lodaed when mysql gets loaded. Is there anyway to do this? Or perhaps it is best to put the table in a RAM disk or something?

Anyone know a generally recommended solution?
