Hmmm, the following testcase passes in 3.0.6, and throws a SQLException 
in 3.1.0 (because 3.1 is more 'pedantic' about these kinds of 
things...Calling .close() twice on a statement is an error):

public void testCloseTwice() throws Exception {
        Statement closeMe = this.conn.createStatement();
        closeMe.close();
        closeMe.close();
}
