in the docs on replication features, it states that In 4.x, we will add a voting algorithm to automatically change master if something goes wrong with the current master. We will also introduce 'agent' processes to help do load balancing by sending select queries to different slaves.
does anybody have any idea when either of these bits of funcionality will be available? the standard single master/multiple slaves configuration is good for load balancing, but poor for fault-tolerance - leaving you with a single point of catastrophic failure.
