I guess there is something wrong with glibc-2.2.9x in RH 8.0. In SuSE 8.0
and RH 7.3 they use glibc-2.2.5 which works.

I would encourage MySQL users who have bought RH 8.0 to report this to Red
Hat. In the long run that may help. Red Hat has a Bugzilla database, but it
did not work through my IExplorer browser. Maybe it works with Mozilla? Can
someone test?
