Hi there, I'm upgrading my old MySQL 3.2 to a new MySQL 4.0 and at the same time I decided to change the location of my data directory. Everything went fine until I begin to do things mentioned at http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Upgrading-from-3.23.html. I tried to run mysql_fix_privilege_tables script, but I get following errors:
ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) This is my old data directory location. The new is /raid2/var/lib/mysql/ and there is mysql.sock active. How I should tell scripts that the mysql.sock file has moved to a new location?
