My machine is a IRIX 6.5

Online Manual:
2.6.6.8 SGI Irix Notes
If you are using Irix Version 6.5.3 or newer mysqld will only be able
to create threads if you run it as a user with CAP_SCHED_MGT
privileges (like root) or give the mysqld server this privilege with
the following shell command:
shell> chcap "CAP_SCHED_MGT+epi" /opt/mysql/libexec/mysqld

maybe i have a problem with the CAP_SCHED_MGT privileges? BTW, in my
binary distribution i don't have a libexec directory...

nothing seem to happens if
shell> chcap "CAP_SCHED_MGT+epi" /opt/mysql/bin/mysqld
(my binary is in /opt)

Thankx.

Hello everybody, i don´t know if i deserve a big RTFM... After
install a MySQL Binary Distribution, the
mysql-standard-4.0.13-sgi-irix6.5-mips in a SGI machine with IRIX64,
the localhost.err was:

030604 17:50:59 mysqld started
InnoDB: The first specified data file ./ibdata1 did not exist:
InnoDB: a new database to be created!
030604 17:51:00 InnoDB: Setting file ./ibdata1 size to 10 MB

Version: '4.0.13-standard' socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' port: 3306

But when i try to acces the mysql console...

bin/mysql
ERROR 1135: Can't create a new thread (errno 1). If you are not out
of available memory, you can consult the manual for a possible
OS-dependent bug

lets see the process
ps -e | grep my

1763485 ? 0:00 mysqld_sa
1777906 ? 1:51 mysqld

and the mysql.sock is in the /tmp directory...

please, could you tell me what i'm doing wrong? Thank you very much.
