Hi Heikki, Thank you for confirming what I was also thinking about. I realised that when specifying datadir=/usr/local/mysql that the server doesnt start up.
Knowing this I also realised that I still have some need to learn ;-). I already have some more questions, but I will go back to studies first before posting anything silly ;-).
