/usr/local/mysql/var (030606 mysqld ended)

Hello,               I have installed the rpm(s) of mysql-4.0.13-0 server, client, and shared-compat on redhat linux 9. after installation (which I did not use rpm –Uvh) I had no errors, but when ever I run the /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe & it returns 030606 mysqld ended     What am I doing wrong?   Christopher Lewis Sr. Security Consultant [EMAIL PROTECTED] 610-757-4181
