In order to help, could you post some info about both servers config (cpu
speed, disk speed and OS as well as network capacity) - That would really
help people understand the problem and find the bottleneck...

Cheers,

Subject: binary log

Is it possible to have more than one binary log per master or is it possible
to start more than one thread to execute queries?

I have 2 computers in a master and slave configuration. The slave is
running without error but it can't keep up with the volume of updates being
performed on the master. The slave is a dual processor box and only one cpu
is being utilized because the slave is reading the master's binary log and
running queries serially. The master and slave have several databases and
it would be great if each database could run it's own thread to execute
queries. It would stand a better chance of being able to keep up. I'm not
expecting real-time replication but after 24 hours, the slave is already 5
hours behind.
