I have just installed 'MySQL-server' and 'MySQL-client' onto a Mandrake 9.1 system.
The two RPMs installed without error and running mysql from the shell was fine and did what was expected of it. I have now rebooted the system and when I go to the shell to issue the 'mysql' command I get the following error: ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' What has happened and what needs to be done to get things going again ?
