Start with performance and work from there.
That's really not a great starting point -- it's too vague. What is performance? Time for a query to execute? How many queries from multiple users can be executed in a given amount of time? How long it takes for a full-table scan? Minimal impact on other processes running? (OK, it can't be this one since it's a dedicated server.) Minimal time required to restart after a catastrophic failure?
