Don't confuse hardware RAID with MySQL RAID. The 2GB file size limit is a function of the operating system and the file system in use, it has nothing to do with the disk hardware you have installed.
Your ISP may say you don't need the raid option activated because the system they are using doesn't have the 2GB limit.
