you could put the password in your .my.cnf file and change permissions so that only the MySQL user can read the file.

I have configure a daily backup for mysql database. the problem is that i need to specifiy the password when using mysql....
mysqldump --all-databases --opt --password=1234567 >testing.sql
how can i encypt this --password=1234567 ???? Thanks
