I start with an empty database. So the data isn't exported. Then users enter data in a web-page. It is this data that can contain French characters and that is added by the java servlet to the database. I will look at the file /etc/sysconfig/i18n this evening (I can not get on the Linux system at this moment). I'm not a linux-expert. I didn't change anything in that file until now. Hi, I'm storing french characters with MySQL under Linux RedHat. Hox did you export your data to Linux ? Did you look to the file /etc/sysconfig/i18n ? The default file is quite buggy under RedHat 8.
