Prompt, then through phpMyAdmin. Each time, it knocked out phpMyAdmin, and I had to reinstall everything from scratch. So I'm finished with the root password.Once you've added a root passsword you'll need to add this to the config.inc.php (assuming you're running phpMyAdmin with conf option; the default behaviour) then reconnect to phpMyAdmin
