Ok, I have installed MySQL many times and have never come across this... when try to run
./bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password' I get the following ./bin/mysqladmin: unable to change password; error: 'Table 'user' is read only' I've never had this happen, and unfortunately do not know enough about read/write perms on tables to try to debug it. I promise that I'll study up on it, but right now I'm kinda of in rush... I'm using : mysql-standard-4.0.18-pc-linux-i686.tar.gz thanks! -- MySQL General Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
