Hi List,
Recently, a machine running an instance of mySQL crashed and had to be rebooted. Cause still unknown, but could have been RAID controller problem. Since then, the mySQL sserver has been extremely slow. For instance, a SELECT that would have taken < 1 second can take > 70 seconds. Again, this was all running fine before.
Putting aside what one can do to the underlying linux-based OS, are there any good things to check and to try, to diagnose and fix this sort of problem? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Things that have been tried:
-Is the process using a lot of resources, hogging the cpu, etc? No.
-One large table has been obtimized (took 53 minutes).
-The mySQL server has been stopped and restarted.
-Is there anything informative in the error log db01.err? Nothing much after "040515 15:13:14 InnoDB: Database was not shut down normally."
Thanks for the help, Jim
