I was wondering if there's a way to set a field to be a pattern of another field in the same table, ie: number file 1 xyz_1.jpg 2 xyz_2.jpg 3 xyz_3.jpg . . n xyz_n.jpg I'm achieving this through php but was curious to know if you could do it directly in MySQL as it would probably be much more efficient. rgds James
