The entire toolchain under Gentoo for x86_64 is 64 bit.  Runs like a charm.  
Support in the forum and IRC channel is pretty darn good - several of the 
developers hang out in the IRC channel answering questions.  I've got a MySQL 
install running on mine, using the ebuild supplied in Gentoo rather than the 
official binaries, and it works just fine.
